Natalie Stamper, LCSW
Therapist

Natalie Stamper is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing individual therapy for adults at Wishart Counseling Group. She specializes in working with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, women's mental health, life transitions, self-esteem, and relationship difficulties.

Natalie's Approach

Natalie believes therapy works best when clients feel genuinely seen and heard — not analyzed from a distance. Her style is warm, engaged, and collaborative. She asks thoughtful questions, challenges patterns that aren't serving her clients, and helps them make connections between past experiences and present-day struggles. But she also meets clients where they are. Some sessions will feel like deep emotional work. Others are more practical and focused on building skills clients can use right away.

Natalie draws from several evidence-based approaches depending on what each client needs, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and narrative therapy. She believes in the idea that the stories we tell ourselves about who we are and what we've been through have enormous power, and that rewriting those stories can be transformative.

Who Natalie Works With

Many of Natalie's clients are women in their 20s through 50s who are high-functioning on the outside but struggling on the inside. They're professionals, mothers, partners, and caregivers who have built lives that look good on paper but don't feel the way they expected. Some are dealing with specific challenges like infertility, postpartum adjustment, career burnout, or relationship difficulties. Others just know something feels off and they're ready to figure out what it is.

Natalie also works with adults of all backgrounds who are navigating:

Anxiety that shows up as constant worry, overthinking, difficulty sleeping, or a sense of dread that won't go away. Depression that manifests as low motivation, emotional numbness, withdrawal from the people and activities you used to enjoy, or persistent sadness. Trauma — whether from a single event or years of ongoing stress, neglect, or difficult relationships — that continues to shape how you think, feel, and relate to others. Life transitions such as career changes, divorce, relocation, becoming a parent, loss, or the disorienting experience of achieving your goals and still feeling unfulfilled.

Specialties

Anxiety — Persistent worry, overthinking, restlessness, difficulty sleeping, and the exhaustion of living in a constant state of alertness.

Depression — Low mood, loss of motivation, withdrawal, hopelessness, and the feeling of just going through the motions.

Trauma — Helping clients understand how past experiences are affecting their present and building a path toward healing. Working at your pace, never pushing faster than you're ready to go.

Women's Mental Health — Therapy for women navigating the pressures of balancing career, relationships, motherhood, and identity. Perfectionism, people-pleasing, burnout, self-worth, and postpartum adjustment.

Life Transitions — Career changes, divorce, loss, relocation, becoming a parent, and the moments that reshape your sense of who you are.

Self-Esteem & Relationship Difficulties — Building confidence, setting healthier boundaries, and changing the patterns that keep you stuck in relationships and in life.

What to Expect?

The first session is about getting to know each other. Natalie will ask about what brought you to therapy, what you're hoping to get out of it, and what your life looks like right now. There's no pressure to share more than you're comfortable with. From there, Natalie will build a plan with you that's tailored to your goals — whether that's managing anxiety more effectively, processing a difficult experience, rebuilding your sense of self, or simply having a space where you don't have to perform.

Insurance & Rates

Natalie is in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) and Aetna. If you have a different insurance provider, Natalie can provide a superbill for you to submit for out-of-network reimbursement.

Individual Therapy Session (50 minutes): $165

Sessions are 50 minutes and held via secure telehealth for residents of North Carolina.
