INDIVIDUAL THERAPY
Individual Therapy for Adults in Charlotte, NC & Nashville, TN
You're doing well on the surface. You're productive, you're showing up for the people in your life, and from the outside, things probably look fine. But something underneath isn't right — and it's getting harder to ignore.
Maybe it's anxiety that won't quiet down. Maybe it's a low-grade depression that makes everything feel heavier than it should. Maybe you're dealing with a life transition, a relationship that's struggling, or patterns you keep repeating even though you know better.
Individual therapy is a place to stop performing and start being honest about what's actually going on. With the right therapist, it's also where you build the skills and self-awareness to change it.
What We Specialize In
Anxiety — Persistent worry, overthinking, restlessness, and the physical symptoms that come with living in a state of constant alertness. Tight chest, racing heart, trouble sleeping, difficulty being present.
Depression — Low mood, loss of motivation, withdrawal, hopelessness, and the feeling that you're just going through the motions.
Men's Issues — Many men struggle to identify and express what they're feeling, often because they were never taught how. We provide a space where men can explore anger, vulnerability, relationship struggles, identity, and purpose without judgment.
Addiction and Recovery — As a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS), Ryan provides expert-level support for individuals navigating substance use, recovery, and the underlying issues that fuel addictive patterns.
Relationship Issues — Even when you're not in couples therapy, individual therapy can address how you show up in relationships — patterns of avoidance, codependency, conflict, or withdrawal.
Life Transitions — Career changes, divorce, loss, becoming a parent, midlife questioning — the moments that disrupt your sense of self.
Grief and Loss — Processing the death of someone important, the end of a relationship, or any significant loss that has altered your world.
LGBTQIA+ Support — Navigating identity, coming out, minority stress, and relationship dynamics in an affirming therapeutic environment.
Our Approach
We draw from multiple evidence-based approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based practices, internal family systems, psychodynamic therapy, and relational therapy. But our foundation is the therapeutic relationship itself — the work happens because you feel safe, understood, and respectfully challenged.
Clients describe our style as warm, informal, direct, and occasionally funny. We don't believe in the stereotype of the silent therapist who just nods. We engage. We ask real questions. We offer honest feedback. And we hold you accountable to the goals you set.
